POLICIES

Scheduling Appointments

Our office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available.  Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort.  School aged children for routine visits can be scheduled throughout the day.  Most treatment appointments will be scheduled in the morning.  Our afternoon appointments are for routine visits and older children requiring minor dental treatment.

Finances

Payment for professional services is due at the time dental treatment is provided.  Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan which fits your timetable and budget, while providing your child with the best possible care.  We accept cash, personal checks, and major credit cards. We also offer payment arrangements and financing through Care Credit.  Please call our office to obtain more information.

Dental Insurance

Our office is happy to file your insurance for you.  We will make every effort to assure you receive maximum benefits.  However, your insurance may not cover our fees completely.

By law, your insurance company is required to pay each claim within 30 days of receipt.  We file all insurance claims electronically so that your insurance company will receive each claim within days of treatment.  You are responsible for any balance on your account after 30 days, whether the insurance has paid or not.  We will gladly refund any credit balance once your insurance has paid.

Dental insurance is a contract between you, your employer, and the insurance company.  We are not a party to that contract.  Dental insurance is not meant to cover all fees.  It is meant to be an aid to your investment in your child's dental healthcare.  Most plans cover about 40-50% of average fees.  Some plans pay more, some less.

Usual, Customary, or Reasonable Fees (UCR) is a term used by insurance carriers which is an amount the insurance company chooses to pay for each procedure.  It is not based on the average charge of practicing specialists in the area.  It is merely an allowable amount they will reimburse.

Please do not hesitate to ask about our financial policy.  We want you to be comfortable in dealing with these matters.  If you have any questions regarding your insurance, we ask that you contact your company regarding specifics and details of your plan.

OUR GOAL

OUR MISSION

Your child’s first dental visit is easier than you think. Our office and The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that your child visit the dentist by his/her 1st birthday.

Dr. Armanazi and his team will create an environment that will make your child’s visit very positive and enjoyable. We will begin by reviewing your child’s health history. We will also discuss in detail any specific concerns you may have about your child’s oral health. Depending on how well the appointment is going, we may attempt  to –  as we call it “Shine the teeth with our tooth tickler.“  We will conclude the appointment with a thorough exam, oral hygiene instructions such as proper tooth brushing techniques, tooth paste use, flossing & diet considerations.

We want the first visit to be an introduction to the dental office and want it to be very positive for you child.

FIRST PEDIATRIC DENTAL VISIT

  • What should I bring on my first visit?

On your first visit to our office, please bring your insurance card  and our completed First Visit Questionnaire.

Your insurance determines your deductible and co-payment.

Any amount not covered by your insurance will be due that day.

  • What can I expect to pay for my child’s visit?

We would be happy to discuss fees and insurance with parents prior to the first visit in our office.  Our receptionist will discuss this with you, and answer any questions you may have prior to making your first appointment.

  • My child is nervous in the dental office. How can you help?

It is quite normal for children to be anxious about their first visit to the dentist.  Pediatric dentists have special training in helping anxious children feel secure during treatment. Also, pediatric dental offices are designed to make children feel comfortable. Even though kids may not like having their teeth cleaned or examined, there is a good chance they will be able to watch their favorite television show or movie on a nearby monitor. Team members choose to work in our pediatric dental practice because they enjoy working with children.

  • My child has special needs. Can you help us?

Specialists in pediatric dentistry have training in the care of children with special needs.  Our appointments and treatment are catered to the specific needs of each child.

Dr. Armanazi has had extensive experience in dealing with a wide variety of children with special needs through his education and experience at several children’s hospitals and in our clinical practice.  Our office is designed to be accessible to children with special needs.

  • We have several children and scheduling is important to us.

Do you run on time, and will you see all my children at once?

Seeing several children in one family at the same time is never a problem for our staff.  We know that our parents have busy schedules, and we do our best to stay on schedule at all times.

What is a Pediatric Dentist?

A Pediatric Dentist like Dr. Armanazi is a specialist dedicated to the oral health of children and the monitoring of their facial growth and development. Our office is designed for treating children from infancy through adolescence, as well as the medically and the physically compromised.

What is a Board Certified
Pediatric Dentist?

When a Pediatric Dentist is Board Certified it means that the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry or ABPD certifies that the dental care being provided is based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a Pediatric Dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to the delivery of quality patient care.
